The flight was clean, and stress-free. On arrival in Crete, it was no time in any respect earlier than we picked up our luggage from the small baggage carousel at Heraklion Airport and have been outdoors within the heat night time air, being greeted warmly by a beautiful Jet2 rep. As a part of the bundle, we had transfers from the airport to the resort included. I used to be anticipating an enormous coach, as you’d often get, as a substitute it was a flowery little Mercedes mini bus with blacked out home windows, fancy strip lights illuminating the inside and a fairly dashing younger Greek driver referred to as Giorgio – who promptly handed us a bottle of ice-cold water every – in alternate for a boiled candy my mum had purchased an obligation free on the way in which out.
By the point we arrived at The Royal Blue it was previous 10pm, we checked in on the resort reception after which have been taken by a driver and buggy to our room. The resort grounds regarded fairly all lit up at night time, and we regarded ahead to seeing them within the sunshine the next morning. Because the restaurant was now not serving meals by the point we have been all settled in, the resort had left us a hen Caesar wrap in our room and a plate of macaroons and recent fruit. Scrumptious!
Over the course of the following 4-days, we familiarised ourselves with the resort surrounds, spent lengthy afternoons on the personal seashore, sunbathing, chatting and having fun with some high quality mother-daughter time. My fave factor at The Royal Blue was the little button which you could press in your solar umbrella to name for a waiter and order your meals and drinks! Now THAT is fairly luxurious eh?
